Sapodilla Lagoon Marina & Yacht Club:
The majestic Maya Mountains and Victoria Peak provide a backdrop for the beautiful calm waters of the Sapodilla Lagoon, known by ocean cruising guides as one of the world’s most beautiful anchorages. The Sapodilla Marina & Yacht Club will have an eight-foot-deep entry channel and pool, as well as naturally landscaped berths for 200 vessels. The full service facility will provide necessities including freshwater, fuel, ship chandlers, repair shop and laundry. For sailors’ enjoyment, a yacht club with a restaurant, bar, locker-room and showers will be available. An exclusive small condominium development is planned in association with the Marina & Yacht Club, planned for the second phase of the development.
The channel into the lagoon and anchorage provide approximately 10-feet of water—an excellent anchorage. The lagoon supports a population of snook, tarpon, jacks, cubera snapper, barracuda, and sheepshead. In order to protect endangered species that frequent the entrance of the lagoon, such as the West-Indian Manatee, speed limits will be implemented.
The Marina & Yacht Club provides easy access to all the attractions of the property, including the hotel, beach, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, and other activities. Tours can also be arranged for visiting yachting parties who would like to explore the interior of Belize.
